App Brand Identity - Restaurant App

THE BRIEF

A client approached me with a concept: a mobile app that surfaces government health inspection data for nearby restaurants and food trucks, translating official scores into an intuitive A–F grading system. The name, mark, and full visual system were mine to define from the ground up.

THE APPROACH

I developed the name Foodifile to work on two levels — practically descriptive as a food safety filing system, while nodding to “foodiephile” for the audience most likely to care deeply about where they eat. The wordmark and icon were built in tandem as a cohesive system. The stylized F, with its stacked crossbars echoing document lines, does double duty as both letterform and visual metaphor for filed records. Nested inside a folder icon, the mark communicates the core concept instantly: your food safety data, organized and accessible. The primary palette pairs black with a signature neon green — a deliberate double assignment. As the brand’s hero color it gives Foodifile a bold, modern edge; as the color tied to the A grade, it trains users to associate the brand itself with the best possible dining experience before they ever open the app.

DELIVERABLES
